Tim and Tristan Reeves return to action

Reigning World Sidecar Champions Tim and Tristan Reeves will take part in their first race of the year on Sunday when they head the list of high profile riders to compete in the Steve Webster International Trophy race at Donington Park.

After negotiations during the New Year it was confirmed that a race in honour of the multi world champion, the Steve Webster International Trophy for Formula One machines would be run at Donington Park, Leicestershire as part of the British Superbike event.

The event will provide the first opportunity for the Kent World Champions to show off their new colour scheme and shake down their outfit in preparation for the defence of their title that begins at Schleiz at the end of May.

Tim has just returned from Val Du Vienne in the south of France where he has been testing his new LCR Suzuki over the past few days.

“We had a successful test,” said Tim. “We got dialled in and stuck in a good number of fast laps so feel prepared to defend our world title against all comers.

“I have been working flat out to get the team up and running, I didn’t realise how much work was involved and what with holding down a full time job as well I am shattered.

“But my employers, Ringway Infrastructure Services have been really good about all the time off over the last few weeks so it’s a big thank-you to them.”

Tim and Tristan will be running in new colours of Red, White, Blue and green and under the name of Team Eastern Airways who are to be their title sponsors.

Other sponsors adding their names to the new paintwork are: Line Logistics, Goody Demolition, Commercial Tyres, Morris Lubricants, Ringway Infrastructure Services and D. W. Roberts.

“I am grateful to all these sponsors I have on board,” said Tim. “ Especially D.W.Roberts who were my team from last year. Sadly team owner Dave Roberts died during the year but I am pleased to say that the company have again pledged their support for 2006 and I am honoured to be able to carry Dave’s name on.”

Racing commences on Friday with a 20-minute free practise session at 12.55pm followed by qualifying at 5.30pm. Final qualifying takes place on Saturday at 5.35pm and the 15-lap race is scheduled for 4.45pm on Sunday.

Tim and Tristan’s World Championship defence is as follows:
May 28 – Schleiz; June 11 - Castle Combe; July 16 – Assen; July 16 – Sachenring; August 6 – Salzburg; August 13 – Rijeka; September 3 – Assen; September 10 – Karlskoga.
