Current World Champion sidecar racers Tim and Tristan Reeves from Maidstone in Kent are to race at Brands Hatch this coming weekend May 12, 13 & 14 using the track time to prepare for the opening round of the 2006 FIM Sidecar World championship at Schleiz in Germany the following week where the brothers will begin the new world championship campaign. With the cancellation of the official test at Padborg in Denmark Tim and Tristan took in a test day at Mallory to check the performance of a new exhaust system, air box and brakes and after putting in a large number of laps Tim was satisfied with the progress made. “The new exhaust etc didn’t arrive in time for the Steve Webster race last month and although we did win I felt the bike was under performing. Now we have that sorted and everything is spot on,” said Tim. “We were originally going to test in Germany but now that’s been cancelled we need to check everything is running smoothly before heading out to Germany next week. |
“There is a test day at Brands on Friday followed by the Bemsee club and MRO meeting on Saturday and Sunday. That is ideal for us as Brands is just up the road from our headquarters.” The Brands Hatch meeting is an ideal opportunity for local supporters to come along and see the world champions in action before they commence the defence of their world crown.
